David L. Soffer has been practicing law in New Jersey since 2005. He started his legal career as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Michael R. Casale in the Superior Court of New Jersey. From there David went on to serve as an Assistant Prosecutor in the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, a position he held for approximately seven years. While at the Prosecutor’s Office, David served in various specialized units including the Adult Trial Division, the Juvenile Trial Division, the Domestic Violence Unit and the Professional Standards Bureau (Internal Affairs). Having prosecuted hundreds of cases, David has unique insight into New Jersey’s criminal justice system, and can effectively guide his clients through the often daunting process of criminal prosecution.
David entered private practice in 2012, and has been successfully representing clients since. Prior to founding the Law Office of David L. Soffer, LLC, David worked at several prestigious law firms where he focused not only in the area of criminal law, but also in the fields of insurance litigation, personal injury and worker’s compensation. David has the skills and experience necessary to effectively represent clients in a wide array of legal matters.
David graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2004, where he was a member of the Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Board. He graduated, with honors, from Lehigh University in 2001. David is admitted to the Bar in New Jersey, New York and Washington DC. He is a proud member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Essex County Bar Association, and the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey. David also sits on the Board of Directors of the Lehigh Lawyers Association.
